APELL is an independent, non- governmental and not for profit NGO
registered in Romania. CN APELL - RO Foundation's aim is to enhence knowledge,
awarness and manamenebt in risk prevention and protection, response and
mitigation methods and activities, as well as the promotion of environmental
policies and strategies implementation, in the context of sustainable

As a member
of “Liga Studentilor” in Universitatea “V. Alecsandri” din Bacau I have learnt
that the mobility inside UE is a very powerful lesson - about democracy,
national values, and cultural diversity - that every young European citizen
must attend.
I have
the chance to meet students from whole over the world during the progremme
“Work and Travel“ and to understood that mobility is useful for you – the
traveler, for your friends from home and new friends you make during the
mobility.
Why have You decided to participate in this project?
I decided to
participate in this project for:
-widening my
civic participation for this time, as we are facing challenges as
migration and social crisis
- learning
creative methods for boosting
awareness of youth about European Union.
What are Your expectations for the training course?
I want to
gain practical tools to help youth to become active citizens
of EU.
What does EU mean to you?
Free
movement of people and goods, knowing and respecting the others’ values.

I participated in the development of many projects of our
asociation APELL,icluding the projects with European mobilities: I discuss with
people before and after mobilities and I encourage them to explain to their
colleagues about the benefits of mobility.
Why have You decided to participate in this project?
I want to make exchanges of good practices with other European youth
workers about how to actively engage young people in the EU civic life.
I want to discover new culture, to communicate and interact with new
people; exploring new places.
What are Your expectations for the training course?
Participation in this trening course is a challenge for me. I want to see
how I hanndle it alone, away from family and friends.
I want to explore other EU values, to know more about social challenges and
youth participation in civic society in other European countries.
What does EU mean to you?
Freedom to travel, study and work in its space.

I want to be

I want
To find from other youth workers, and share with them, examples of good
practices in preparing the future EU citizens
What does EU mean to you?
I think that being European means sharing common values: most important
is democracy, freedom of speech, freedom of movement within the EU; but is also
important to be aware of our own and others national values.

Cofounder
and Vice President of Association Strive!, youth organization which promotes
mobility and non-formal education in Croatia. I am youth worker who is
promoting Erasmus + program, raising awareness about importance of
complementarity between formal and Non-Formal Education and actively
participating on youth exchanges as a part of professional and personal
development.
Why have You decided to participate in this project?
First of
all, I have a great interest and passion for this topic. I consider it is very
important for young people to be well informed about their educational and
mobility opportunities and alternatives in EU because this is the first step to
reach full potential of the youth. Moreover, in this project will participate
young enthusiasts from 11 different countries which will increase intercultural
level as well as sharing good practices between countries. Finally, I would lie
if I don't mention the fact that my travel soul picked up Cyprus as next
destination to explore.
What are Your expectations for the training course?
I believe
this project will gather a group of open-minded young intellectuals so I am
thrilled to work in a team. I hope this training course will be another amazing
experience for me where I willl continue to widen my knowledge and grow the
circle of friendship.
What does EU mean to you?
EU for me
means more opportunities for every country member as well as EU citizens.

Jelena Novak

My active
involvement in youth work started few years ago when I, together with a couple
of colleagues, founded Association Strive! Association Strive! is a
non-governmental organization that promotes mobility, unity and nonformal
education, through organizing activities for the youth, in order to improve the
life of the local community. Our mission is to promote mobility and nonformal
education for the youth in Croatia and to include marginalized and socially
vulnerable young people in the area Međimurje in Erasmus + projects. My current
role in association is Partnership Coordinator.
Why have You decided to participate in this project?
I have
decided to participate in this project because I find the topic very
interesting and I think I could learn something new and useful for my personal,
as well as professional development. I consider myself open, communicative and
positive person, always eager for new knowledge and experience and I would like
to contribute to this project with my enthusiasm. I believe that the chosen
project will gather many young enthusiasts and intellectuals and one of my
passions are work in a team with other people on new and creative ideas. Also,
my great desire is to travel, meet new people, learn about their culture and
life in their countries.
What are Your expectations for the training course?
Primarily I
expect to learn something new because I think that upgrade our own knowledge
should be aspiration of every human being. Also, I look forward to developing
new ideas and solutions through socializing and teamwork. If with all this I
gain new international friendships, have a good time and fun, sometimes laugh
to tears, this will be my one of the most valuable life experiences.
What does EU mean to you?
EU to me
means a sense of belonging, no boundaries, no nationality, more freedom,
diversity -> briefly “big family”.

I gain some
experience through non-formal education and conversation with youth workers,
participation in several youth exchanges and volunteering in the Association
Strive!
Why have You decided to participate in this project?
Because I
love to learn new things, to accept new challenges and growth in terms of
education. I believe I can use my knowledge and ideas to contribute to the
development of this training course. I also expect, I would be more able to
help other young people after this training and make the world at least slightly
better for all.
What are Your expectations for the training course?
I expect to
learn something new, expand horizons, develop new ideas through friendship and
teamwork. Also expect to meet new cultures, to experience various things and
make new friends. And if l manage to learn some words in several
languages-perfect!
What does EU mean to you?
European
Union to me means a place where should not be boundaries between people, where
people are not shared on any grounds and where together we work for the
betterment. "You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one".
